My mother took advantage of the sunny weather to take a picture of her new quilt. I couldn't resist showing this picture here as it shows off the quilting so nicely.
This quilt was quilted using Circle Lord's Baptist Fan templates. The curves definitely compliment the straight line piecing in the blocks.
Hi, fellow Canadian quilter. Love the Christmas quilt and your Mom's beautiful green crumb. Hope your weekend is filled with all that you want.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt looks gorgeous in the sunlight. Great fan quilting. We too have been having record low temps after record highs! THis weather is crazy but we don't have to go anywhere so not much of a problem for us.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't it make you so happy to see the quilt on their bed? I love the quilting. One of these days I'm going to quilt something with the Baptist fan pattern . . . I really like it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a good picture your mom took! The light is just right to make that quilting stand out and the colors of the green just glow.
ReplyDeleteBet you are happy to see them using the quilt and not seeing it put aside to "save" it another day.
It's gorgeous, Norma! How perfect that the light hit it just so the quilting shows up so well! Lovely, lovely job, girl!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful quilt - the soothing colors, the nice quilting design. I am going to have to use that quilting design on one of my quilts someday soon!
ReplyDeleteThe quilt looks so nice with the sun shining on it!
ReplyDeleteIt was so nice to go for a drive yesterday and not be driving in pouring rain, buckets of snow or a wild wind storm.
Your mom picked a great time to take a picture of the quilt. The shining sun brings out the quilting wonderfully.
ReplyDeleteOooh, that quilt is lovely in the sunlight! Great idea for trying to take a photo of the quilting, which can be tricky!!!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Evelyn
The quilt looks so good on your Mum's bed with it's dark green cushion to match. I love the colours you used and the quilting looks superb!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE those Baptist Fans - I haven't ordered one yet because I've been debating between the Circle Lord and the Quilt EZ. I also need a circle template for the new machine since I traded the one I had in with the Classic because it wouldn't fit on this table. I'm tempted to just break the bank and order the Circle Lord and the Baptist Fan template - is that not crazy since I don't even quilt as a business???
ReplyDeleteOhhh, green's my very favorite color, and the crumbs look great with that sashing. The light from the window really highlights the quilting too, nice work!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo - looks like one you would see in a Better Homes and Garden Magazine ;) Your mom has a great eye for taking photos and you have a great eye for choosing fabrics! Great job on the crum quilt. ~Bonnie
ReplyDeleteHope you warm up! that quilt looks stunning!
ReplyDeleteI agree it's a great photo. I use alot of baptist fan quilting on my quilts. I made my own templates and it's so much easier that way. Where did your mom get her templates? I wouldn't mind buying some as well.Love the teddy.
