Flood Threat Over!

The flood threat seems to have passed!

On Father's Day we took my parents for a drive down to the river to take a look first hand at the height of the river. The river had dropped substantially from when we last drove under the bridge a week and a half ago.

Perhaps life can get back to normal now--no more waiting on tender hooks to see what was going to happen.

These pictures were taken by my mother from under the bridge on Father's Day during our drive.

  1. Glad it didn't flood. It still looks high to me. The quilt you did with the waves, under this post, is just gorgeous.

  3. Time to breathe a sigh of relief! So glad the worst did not come to reality...and that you were prepared if things had gotten out of hand.

Now you can get back to focusing on living rather than waiting for the unknown.

  5. I think I can hear that huge sigh of relief clear down here in AL. That water height still looks high but at least not way out of the banks. I've been watching your temps and hoping that it would stay cool and not melt off the snow pack too fast. DJ just looked at the picture of your new wheels and said it must be cold there since you were both wearing your jackets. (I told him that was a good thing.)

  6. I'm glad the flood threat is over. There are parts of the country that are experiencing droughts. If only the weather would be fair to everyone.

  10. I have memories of being flooded out of our home as a child, and it sure brings back anxieties just hearing about other folks in the same situation. Glad to hear that you are out of danger.
