I haven't been posting a lot to my blog lately. I have been quilting--just not my own projects. The quilting of customer quilts has taken up all my spare time. Yesterday, I decided to take a break from everyone else's quilts and load one of my own.
This quilt has been a completed flimsy since February. It is made from Mile a Minute blocks, also known as Crumb blocks.
This afternoon, I am getting together with other members of our quilt show committee to assemble some of the quilt frames for our upcoming quilt show on October 28. We are borrowing the quilt racks from another guild and have never used them before. Since we have limited time to set up for our show on Friday night, we felt the need for a "rehearsal".
Oh, nice colors!

Glad you got the chance to quilt a little for yourself.
ReplyDeleteThat crumb quilt loaded on the machine looks lovely!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt, Norma. Can we see a photo of the whole quilt when you're finished?
ReplyDeleteI like the way you used the sashing and cornerstones to separate your crumb blocks. Most people just sew them together which is nice too. I just like yours better. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe main reason I decided NOT to buy a long arm machine was I was afraid I'd spend all my time and energy quilting for customers and not get any of my own quilting done.
I love this quilt - green is my all time favorite, though I haven't had a chance to use much lately. You can see that my CQ block is greens, though! What a fun quilt this is.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you have that much business, though!
Looking good... you sure had a lot of greens! I'm green with envy, green is my favorite color. :)
ReplyDeleteAre you stippling or doing a pantograph?
I have never made crumb blocks before, but seeing your monochromatic version is inspiring me to give it a go. You must have had a lot of greens in your stash. It's wonderful!

Hi Norma, your green crumbs look just as great as they did back in Feb..*VBS* And how nice to put one of your own quilts on the long arm for a change!
ReplyDeleteHope the quilt show goes well and you have a good turnout for it. Hugs, Finn
Good for you! I like that your Mile a minute quilt is monochromatic!
ReplyDeleteI know you have been busy quilting for everyone BUT yourself lately. Good that this one is getting quilted!
ReplyDeleteGreat looking crumb quilt. I've never made one but they do look like alot of fun. Nice to see that you're quilting one of your own. And, I love the Baptist Fans!
ReplyDeletehurray for quilting one of your own. hope the quilt show is a huge success.
ReplyDeleteThe sashing really balances the crumb blocks well. I like the greens!
ReplyDeleteAre you using the Circle Lord baptist fan template? I've been wanting to buy it for a long time but couldn't justify the expense for just my own quilts. With downsizing my longarm - I'm going to splurge assuming I can get it to fit the Premier table.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you -- not much time for my own things right now. Don't you just love that Millennium? Looks like you're doing a full float there. Do you do that all the time?
