I haven't been posting a lot to my blog lately. I have been quilting--just not my own projects. The quilting of customer quilts has taken up all my spare time. Yesterday, I decided to take a break from everyone else's quilts and load one of my own.This quilt has been a completed flimsy since February. It is made from Mile a Minute blocks, also known as Crumb blocks.
This afternoon, I am getting together with other members of our quilt show committee to assemble some of the quilt frames for our upcoming quilt show on October 28. We are borrowing the quilt racks from another guild and have never used them before. Since we have limited time to set up for our show on Friday night, we felt the need for a "rehearsal".

ReplyDeleteI like the way you used the sashing and cornerstones to separate your crumb blocks. Most people just sew them together which is nice too. I just like yours better. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe main reason I decided NOT to buy a long arm machine was I was afraid I'd spend all my time and energy quilting for customers and not get any of my own quilting done.
I love this quilt - green is my all time favorite, though I haven't had a chance to use much lately. You can see that my CQ block is greens, though! What a fun quilt this is.

I have never made crumb blocks before, but seeing your monochromatic version is inspiring me to give it a go. You must have had a lot of greens in your stash. It's wonderful!

ReplyDeleteAre you using the Circle Lord baptist fan template? I've been wanting to buy it for a long time but couldn't justify the expense for just my own quilts. With downsizing my longarm - I'm going to splurge assuming I can get it to fit the Premier table.
