Creative Inspiration in Vegas

The following pictures are photos of the inspiration items I brought back from our recent vacation to Las Vegas. At every turn, there were colours, textures, and designs to inspire the creative spirit. Yes, there is more to Las Vegas than gambling!

The 2,000 hand-blown glass flowers on the ceiling of the Bellagio Hotel.

The floor tiles of the Venetian reminded me of a Tumbling Blocks quilt.

Art on the ceilings of the Venetian.

A larger than life vase of flowers in the lobby of the Golden Nugget.

An intricate design in the carpet of the MGM Grand.

One of the mascots from the Rainforest Cafe inside the MGM Grand.

A glass sculpture suspended from the parking area in front of the Mirage.

Orchids on the walkway at the Mirage.

  1. Blogger and/or bloglines are not behaving very well today so I checking to see who posted the old way, LOL.

What a feast for the eyes--the hotels almost seem like castles! Colors, art, everywhere.

Did you two go to any other shows than Mamma Mia?

  2. What beautiful shots you were able to get, Norma. Not only will they be inspiration for you, they'll enhance your memories of your vacation.

  3. Las Vegas is a great place to visit. The first time DH showed me the glass sculptures in the Bellagio I was speechless. Most people don't realize all the beautiful art work there is to see in the hotels and in the city. All they think about is the gambling and the entertainment. Thanks for sharing your pictures.

  4. Beautiful photos!
We lived in Las Vegas in the 1980's -- my dad is still there. It's an amazing place.

  5. I love the Chihuly sculputes. I kept bumping into people because I was looking up instead of where I was going *s*

  6. So glad to hear you had such a good time, and what great inspiration you found!!
