With all the snow outside, this quilt seemed appropriate to post. The quilt belongs to a customer and is called, "Snowman Collector".
I quilted this quilt with Bottom Line thread and I used Circle Lord's wave template. The combination of a fine thread and this template add just enough texture without overpowering the applique on this quilt.
I also collect snowmen and may have to make one of these for myself.
What a cute quilt, and the quilting sets it off beautifully.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute quilt! Lots of work in that one.
ReplyDeleteThat is one charming quilt! I wouldn't mind having one for myself, either. You've done that quilting wave on a few now, and I really like it-I'dlike to try something like that on a few of my quilts.
ReplyDeleteNeat - the wave worked nicely as an over-all pattern on that quilt.
ReplyDeleteyour quilting really comliments this fun quilt -- made me think of a light wind blowing across the plains...
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice quilt and the quilting is also nice. I just had to share the pic with my friend who is a snowman collector too
ReplyDeleteOh how cute! And what gorgeous quilting you've done to complement the perfect looking stitches your customer has done. Do you know if they did the blanket stitch by hand or machine?
ReplyDeleteThat is an adorable quilt. I love snowmen too.
ReplyDeleteI've made one of these. Here's a link:

I need to get it out a drape it over the sofa for Christmas
The snowman quilt is so cute and you're right - the wavy quilting pattern is just perfect :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the wave and no, it didn't overpower the applique. Good job!
ReplyDeleteThe wave looks like windy snow, good choice!
ReplyDeleteNeat quilt! I especially like all the scrappy squares she used between the snowman blocks. :)
ReplyDeleteI love bottom line thread for just that purpose - gentle texture without spoiling the bigger picture - mind you I use it all the time in my bobbin too
ReplyDeleteNorma, it is just a darling quilt, and your quilting has just set it off perfectly.

I'm catching up from being out of town. You've been busy. The mountains in your view are gorgeous. The snowman quilt is nothing less than charming. She really trusts you to have you do the quilting. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteThat quilt is adorable!! Do you know who the pattern is by?
ReplyDeleteLovely quilt. I have done all the blocks but have not joined them yet. I must do that in 2007 ! I will not add the outer border though, as I want it as a winter quilt on my couch.
