Dryer Diamond Strings

This is my last finish for this weekend.

These were my dryer sheet string blocks.

I don't like the border on this one. The border in itself is fine, it just doesn't work on this quilt. However, it is now a finished flimsy ready for quilting, and I am sure it will find a home where it will be loved just the same. :) Not every idea in my head turns out like I think it will!

  1. What a pretty string quilt, and a great idea to use dryer sheets. I like the border treatment.

  4. I really like your border, think it frames the quilt nicely. Makes the quilt have dimension especially using the black against that green...
    great choice!

  5. I love how the dryer sheets give you rectangluar blocks instead fo the more common squares. And in my opnion look great with the green border -- it picks up the light springy colours in the blocks and highlights them...

  11. Norma, I'm not an expert, but I think the green border is great! I think it really makes the blocks pop. I don't know whether you didn't like the color or the design of the border, but I think both are nice.

  12. Look at you go, girl! I like the border though---not sure what you wanted it to look like but it looks fine! that black breaks up the green nicely and really frames it well.

Good job with the swirls on the Building Blocks. I am going to print off the post with the enlarging instructions and put it with the ones I printed off. THX!

    I like the black-sashings.

The Ladybug quilt is really cute too. I have a couple of Debbie Mumm projects I want to do now!

  17. I would say your border slightly overpowers the diamonds-is that what seems off to you? still, a wonderful quilt and done is great! I liked the diamond wall hanging I did-a fun shape to work with
